Media Alert - Press Conference July 26

News Conference

Tuesday, July 26, 2016  - 10:00 A.M.

In the wake of the unforgivable jailing of a rape victim, Kim Ogg will hold an important news conference to reassure crime victims help is on the way.

"Either their rape kit won’t get tested for months, they could be jailed to make them testify, or their own mother could be bullied by a prosecutor under Devon Anderson’s administration", says Ogg.  "I want every victim of sexual assault to hear my promise to every one of them."

Ogg will detail her planned protections for crime victims, including the use of drug funds to permanently erase any backlog in rape kit testing, and the creation of a special unit of trained prosecutors to handle sex crime cases.

The news conference will be held outside the Harris County Jail on Baker Street, where Ogg will declare no victim of sex crimes will ever be jailed again to make them testify.

Press conference will take place at 1100 Baker Street, Houston, TX 77002
